Roy G. Huffman, 80, of Columbus, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born in New Dover, OH on May 7, 1929, to Russell C. and Gladys L. (Fenner) Huffman and is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell Clarence and Charles Huffman; sisters, Emma Jane Wilson, Lois Hartshorn, Thelma Roberts, Ethel Mae Huffman. Survivors include sisters, Mary Joann Shannon and Marjorie Finch; sister-in-law, Lavonne Huffman; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Roy served in the USAR Reserve as Sergeant (Counterintelligence Agent) during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1956, retired from Jeffrey Manufacturing and was a long time member of Broad St. United Methodist Church. He also was an avid gardener, bowler and talented artist. Visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2009, 6-8PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Saturday, December 12, 2009, 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Milford Center Cemetery, Milford Center, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 3380 Tremont Road, Columbus, OH 43221.
