Roy Klaus

With profound sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Roy Curt Klaus, a devoted father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, on February 25th, 2025, at the age of 94, in Grove City, Ohio. Born on May 12, 1930, in St. Louis, Missouri, Roy was the cherished son of the late Erich Hermann and Frieda Klaus.

Roy's life was a testament to love, dedication, and joy. His passions for trains, camping, flea markets, Waffle House breakfasts, and magical trips to Disney World brought happiness to those around him. As a proud Korean War Veteran in the Army, a committed member of the Painter's Union, and a loyal employee of the Ellman's family, Roy exemplified hard work and honor. Above all, his gentle soul and unwavering love for his family will be remembered forever.

Roy's legacy lives on through his loving wife, Dianna Klaus; his daughters, Laura Carman, Robyn Klaus, and Heidi Rogers; and his son-in-law, Michael Rogers. He is also survived by his brother, Gerhard II Dieter Klaus, and his sister-in-law, Annick Klaus. Roy's memory will be cherished by his grandchildren: Brent Carman & Sally Herman, Jared & Ashlee Carman, William Carman, Aaron & Kelsey Klaus, Erika & Ben Colburn, Travis Webb, Mackenzie Rogers, and Bailey Rogers; and his great-grandchildren: Penny, Logan, Henry, and Ellis.

Preceded in death by his parents, Erich Hermann and Frieda Martha Klaus, and siblings Heinz, Gerhardt I, Erich, Robert, and Rosemary, Roy's spirit now joins them in peace.

Friends may call at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4501 Hoover Rd., Grove City, OH 43123 on March 14, 2025 from 10:00am to 11:00am. Memorial service at 11:00am. There will be a reception at 12:00pm at the church.  

Roy's memory will forever be a beacon of love and warmth for his family and friends. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
