Rozelle "Rock" Butler

Rozelle “Rock” Butler, 82, of Columbus, passed away on September 5, 2024. He was born in Lee County, Alabama to the late Roxanna McIntosh Butler. He married Stephanie E. Hale on May 18, 1991 and she survives. 

Along with Stephanie, those left to cherish Rock’s life include four children, Bernice Harris, Patricia Benson, Valerie Butler, and Rozelle Butler, Jr.; eleven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 stepchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 1 step great-grandchild; and many other family members and friends. Rock was preceded in death by his mother, Roxanna; and five brothers, Frank, Tyrone, Larry, Clarence, and Bobby. 

Rock graduated high school in Lee County, Alabama before moving to Columbus. He worked for Sears Freight, assisting with unloading trucks. When he wasn’t working Rock loved to bowl, playing on multiple leagues of many levels over his life.
