Ruby Jean Duty

Ruby Jean Duty, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on February 6, 1938, in Delbarton, WV, Ruby was known for her warm spirit and her ability to connect with everyone around her. She was truly a friend to everybody.

Throughout her life, Ruby took immense pride in raising five generations of children, a testament to her nurturing nature and unwavering love for her family. Ruby loved spending her time playing BINGO, which brought joy and laughter into her life.

Ruby is survived by her children Sheila (Tony), John (Marcella), Harmon (Monica), Brenda (Mike), Butch (Kathy), Hi, Barbara Sue, Pamila, Corky, and Lena. She was also a loving sister to Gail (Charles). Ruby's legacy continues through her grandchildren, including Michael J., T.J., Becky, John Jr., Heather, Steven, Josh, Ashley, Andrew, Autumn, Dwayne, Amy, Dale, Anna, Danielle, Jessica, Daniel, Shane, Chase, Samantha, Brenda Michelle, Brian, Michael, Michelle, Katerina, Chrissy, Dillon, and Katie Lynn, as well as numerous great-grandchildren.  A thank you as well to her caretakers, Jennifer and Gayle. 

Ruby was preceded in death by her father, John "Pap" Collins, her mother, Annie Marie Collins, and her sisters, Caroline and Clarie. She also mourned the loss of her brothers, Everett and Denver, her husbands, Frank and Roy, and her children, Karen Sue, Wallace, Frank, Steven, Kirby, Carol, and Vanessa.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123.  Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne, OH.

Ruby Jean Duty will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
