Run Maya (Gazmer) Shankar, 82, 11 months, and 29 days of Columbus, Ohio, passed away November 29, 2020.

She was born in Tshirang, Suntale Bhutan on January 1, 1938 to the late Nar Bir Gazmer and Pabitra Ghimire.

She is preceded in death by brother; Jas Gazmer; sister, Deu Ramdam, Tirtha Rasaily; daughter, Lachhi Shankar; and grandchild, Chandra Shankar.

Surviving family includes her loving husband, whom she married when she was 16 years old, Tila Chan Shankar; sons, Tulashi (Chandra) Shankar, Tek Nath (Run) Shankar, Bala (Brinda) Shankar, Ganga (Dil) Shankar; daughters, Buddha Maya (Khadka) Baraily, Pabitra (Santa) Luhar, Lila (Jagat) Ramdam, Rani (Krishna) Sintuary, Padma (Nar) Diyali; grandchildren, Moti Raj Shankar, Bikash Shankar, Binod Shankar, Nobin Shankar, Neelam Shankar, Grace Shankar, Birshika Shankar, Sonika Shankar, Ashok Shankar, Sabin Shankar, Priya Shankar, Monu Tamang, Bishnu Tobge,Pabi Baraily, Sandeep Baraily, Mina Ghatraj, Moni Kumar Luhar, Jiban Luhar, Prem Ramdam, Yam Ramdam, Tila Rai, John Sintury, Sarah Sintury); 18 great grandchildren; brothers, Chhabi Gazmer, Dal Gazmer; sister, Mangali Rasaily as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Run Maya was a wonderful woman with a beautiful soul.

She accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior in August 2012.

She saw up to 3 generations of her kids.

Living for 54 years in Bhutan, 20 years in the refugee camp in Nepal. She migrated to Columbus Ohio in 2012 with her families and cherished the love among the families for 8 years.

She was easy to get along with and was a friend to all ages of people.

Run Maya, being the eldest sister to all her siblings she presented herself as the caring figure to all the families including her great grandchildren.

She would enjoy visiting all us and would love to spend time with us.

Run Maya would remember all of us by name even when her eyes were not so good.

She will be truly missed. Hoping to see her in the kingdom of God again soon.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northeast Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio.

A second visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell - OH 43065.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell - OH 43065 - with Pastor Philip Thapa officiating.

Burial will follow in procession to Blendon Central Cemetery, Westerville, Ohio.
