Russell F. "Whitie" Dearth, 95, of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. Born to James A and Lillie (Seniff) Dearth in Canal Winchester, OH on January 10, 1914, Whitie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gloria (Adkins) Dearth; brother, Lewis Dearth; sisters, Freda Manbeavers, Eleanor Rice and Geri Radcliff. Survivors include his daughters, Patricia (Fred) Heacock, Brenda (Dana) Pritchard and Barbara (Ishmial) Swafford; sons, James (Beverly) Dearth, Robert (Mei Lien) Dearth and Bill Layton; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his faithful canine companion, "Gracie". Whitie was an independent contractor for over 65 years. Visitation will be on Monday, June 1, 2009, 4-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. Graveside Service at Glen Rest Memorial Park, 8029 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, OH on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, 11:00 AM.
