Russell E. Townsend

Russell E. Townsend, 66, passed away April 13, 2025. He was preceded in death by mother, Ruth (McCabe) Townsend; father, Ronnie Townsend; and brother, Robin Townsend. Russ is survived by his wife of 39 years, Julie Townsend; children, Ron Townsend and Becky (Evan) Keller; brothers, Randall and Raymond Townsend; nieces, other extended family and friends.

Russ was a 1976 graduate of West High School and Franklin University in 1980 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Russ started his career at PUCO and moved to Gold Circle Stores where he met his wife, Julie. Russ held a variety of positions, most recently with BDS (Motorola) for the past five years.

Russ was famous for his wit and humor. He enjoyed cooking and entertaining for any event or holiday. Russ enjoyed holiday traditions and creating new ones for family and friends. He was also an avid reader and had a wealth of trivia knowledge. Russ was a huge OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan. He also liked to go on golf trips with his golf buddies to Myrtle Beach annually.

There will be a private Celebration of Life for the family.
