Russell Andrew Woyan, long haul truck driver and life-long resident of Columbus, Ohio, passed unexpectedly on January 26, 2023 at the age of 64.
Russell is survived by his wife, Vikki Woyan; his children, Amanda Woyan (Josh Dowell), Nicholas (Jessica) Woyan, Edward Adams (Brenda Berry), and Renee (Chip) Maynard; his grandchildren Cooper Woyan, Mia Woyan, Tre (Jessica) Maynard, Alexander Berry, Savanna Maynard, Caitlyn Berry, Lily Maynard, and Cecelia Berry; great-grandchild Walker Maynard; his mother Barbara Conley; his siblings Deano Conley, Marilyn (Eric) Stowers, and Sherri (Ernie) Schwalbach; and various extended family members. He is preceded in death by his father Dean Conley; and his siblings Carolyn Woyan, Shirley Edwards, and Fred Woyan.
Russell was a loving husband and a dedicated father and grandfather. As a truck driver, he spent the majority of his life on the road. At a young age he quickly distinguished himself above the rest with his work ethic and discipline. He found his life's calling on the road, wandering the open highways. His affection for the road was only eclipsed by the love he had for his wife and family.
When home, Russell's time quickly filled with family cookouts, pool parties, working on his house and yard, or watching his favorite teams. His evenings were spent snuggled up with his wife and dogs. He found great joy in hosting holiday parties and spoiling his grandchildren. He always made time for hugs, kisses, and snapping photos with loved ones.
Russell was taken from us far too soon and his absence will always be felt. But, his life was full. He had a devoted and loving wife, children and grandchildren he adored, a passion for a career he enjoyed, and he became the person he wanted to be. We can cherish the time we had, memories made, and lessons he taught. These are the things we carry with us and pass on to those we love.
A funeral service is scheduled from 4pm to 6pm on February 3rd at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231. Donations and condolences may be offered at this address.
