Ruth (Cox) Banner joined her Lord Jesus Christ for eternal rejoicing on June 30, 2021. She was the 8th child of Frederick and Lucile Cox. Ruth was born in Delaware OH on October 28, 1946. She graduated from Elgin High School, Marion OH in 1964. Preceded in death in addition to her parents is her husband of 38 years Wardell Banner, sisters Wilma Cox Sloan, Rosemary Cox Greene, brothers Donald, William and Ron Cox. Survived by daughters Helen of Westerville and Vicki (Chris Leiphart) of York PA, Granddaughter Emily Patrick of Westerville, son Brian Greene, his daughters Jodi, Dana, Laura, son, Alex and grandson Remmy, sister, Jane Paulson, and brothers, Kenny (Patricia) Cox, and David (Brenda) Cox. Also best friend of over 50 years Diane Merritt of Westerville OH. Also surviving are over 100 nieces and nephews who she loved so much even though she would never be able to name them all, and many, many friends.
Retired from Chemical Abstracts Service after 37 years. Accomplishments during her career was becoming an IPMA Certified Mail Manager and a MSMA Certified Mail & Distribution Manager, served several officer positions in the Central Ohio Postal Customer Council including Industry Co-Chair, Vice Co-Chair and Secretary. She was a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants and Daughters of The American Revolution (DAR). Member of the Genoa Baptist Church and actively participated in their Top of The Hill's senior group.
Visitation at Newcomer NW Chapel 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, Ohio on Tuesday July 6, from 1 pm to 3 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm. Service will be held at Genoa Baptist Church on Wednesday July 7, at 10 am. Burial at Jefferson Township Reynoldsburg - New Albany Rd, Blacklick.
