A memorial service for Ruth H. Brooks will be held at 11 AM Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 North High Street, Worthington, OH 43085.
Ruth H. Brooks, 87, of New Albany passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 in Friendship Village of Columbus. She was born January 31, 1925 in Patterson, Ohio to the late James and Verna (Smith) Hamilton.
She was a graduate of St. Rita's School of Nursing in Lima, Ohio and worked as a nurse for over 40 years. She was a 60 year member of Worthington United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Mabel Jean Hamilton, Helen Jane Price, Grace Vantilburg, Lois Joan McCandless; and brother, James William Hamilton.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert Brooks; daughters, Dianne (David) Powell, Jill (Tim) Booth; sons, Steven (Barbara) Brooks, J. Timothy Brooks; sister, Mary Ann Waller; grandchildren, Gwynne (Joe) Watkins, Daniel (Aimee) Powell, Alissa Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Jessica Sellke, Emily Booth, Amy Booth; one great grandson, Micah Watkins; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
