Ruth B. Brown, 96, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 in Westerville, Ohio.
She was born on September 17, 1926 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Lawrence and May Knuth.
Ruth is preceded in death by husband, Calvin Brown and son, Dennis Brown.
Ruth is survived by son, David Brown; grandchildren, Marc (Alisha) Brown, Marnie (David) Bush, Jennifer (Robbie) Hay, Andrea (Paul) Trombley, Ryan Brown; great-grandchildren, Derek, Sydney, David, Jacob, Matthew, Mason, Jordan, Logan, Braedan, Ryan, Emmalee, Kalvin, Karlee and great-great grandchild, Luca.
Ruth was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and dedicated her life to his service. She was an active member in her church, King of Glory and volunteered at the VA hospital. She taught her children and grandchildren the importance of having faith in God, and love for Christ, and instilled a cultural pride and connection to our Appalachian roots. Ruth was an avid painter, specializing in homestead and seaside scenes. She enjoyed bowling, participating in bowling leagues with her husband, Calvin, well in to their 90s.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Maplewood Cemetery.
