Ruth F. McDonald, 81, of Columbus, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 21, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Born to the late Leon and Orpha (Robey) Freyman, Ruth was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Leon Freyman. Survivors include her husband, Bernard McDonald; daughters, Carol (Craig) Blaine and Linda (David) Horn; sons, David (Paula) McDonald, Mark (Andi) McDonald and Jeff (Kris) McDonald; sister, Nancy (Clifford) Wilson; brother, Herbert (Jean) Freyman; grandchildren, David, Jr., Michael, Kayla, Amber, Amanda, Anna and Jeffrey McDonald, Lydia VanWalsen, Barrett Baughman, Katherine (Stephen) Orodi, Kyle and Kelly Blaine, Richard and Stephanie Brewer; great-grandchild, Alise Orodi; dear friends, David and Sarah Friedlander, Carl and Louise McKee and the entire Church of the Good Shepherd family. Visitation will be Friday, August 22, 2008, 4-8PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008, 11:00AM at Church of the Good Shepherd, 6176 Sharon Woods Blvd, Columbus, OH with interment to follow at Pioneer Cemetery, Westerville, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 540 Officenter Place, Suite 100, Gahanna, OH 43230 or Wesley Glen Eldercare, Inc., 5155 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214.
