While attending her beloved Central High School Ruth Ann met her husband, Jim Farber. She was a cheerleader and a founding member of he KTC (Keen Teen Club). Ruth Ann met with this group of women monthly from 1946-2019. Ruth Ann also enjoyed monthly participation in the Central High School Alumni Association until her passing. With this association she worked many hours to raise funds and attended Columbus City Council meetings to successfully save Central High School, which later became C.O.S.I..
After high school Ruth Ann worked in the superintendent's office at White Cross Hospital, now known as Riverside. She enjoyed this position until the birth of her daughter.
In addition to the Farber's home in Columbus they owned property in Muskingum County, Ohio. The weekend-summer retreat was fondly named HI-MUSKI-O. Here they hosted many guests over a 20 year period. Between the 1980s and early 2000s the Farbers hosted guests at their Florida home. Ruth Ann was instrumental in starting an active clubhouse in her Florida community where she created many wonderful memories.
In her later years Ruth Ann enjoyed her time with family. She loved attending her great grandchildren's sporting events and giving lots of fist bumps, win or lose.
Ruth Ann was blessed to have an 85 year friendship with Celia Hanna Ruby. Things just weren't the same without Cel. Many of us heard the laughter when they were reunited this week.
