On Saturday, May 27, 2023, Ruth Hazel Husted, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away at the age of eighty-five. She passed peacefully at home with her family by her side the morning before her and her husband's 60th anniversary. Ruth was born in Long Beach, California on July 12, 1937 to Richard and Dorthy Montgomery as an only child. She eloped and married her best friend and love of her life Ross Husted on May 28, 1963. They then moved to Worthington, Ohio where Ross worked in the Air Force and they raised a family.
Ruth had an incredible love for her husband, children, grandchildren and most of all, the Lord. Christ's presence resonated from her in all that she said and did. She was an amazing seamstress with her own alteration business and sold Avon to friends and residents of Colonial Hills. Ruth worked for the Worthington Schools Board of Education for 25+ years and loved what she did. She was known for her typing skills of 120 words per minute and was the glue that held the summer school program together. Ruth loved to travel with her husband, Ross, to Anchorage, Alaska where they lived a portion of the year with their brother and sister-in-law, Dell and Betty Husted.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Ross Husted, daughters Debbie Husted and Dee & Henry Cauchi, granddaughters Alexis Husted, Ashley Zupp and Addison Zupp and a wonderful emotional support dog, Fredward. A Celebration of Life will be held in her memory; details forthcoming.
