BORN TO THE LATE CLYDE & CORA COVINGTON ON AUGUST 29, 1931, IN COLUMBUS, OHIO.
ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY BROTHERS CLYDE COVINGTON JR, CLARENCE COVINGTON, CHARLES COVINGTON AND HENRY COVINGTON: SISTERS ROSA COVINGTON & VIRGINIA (VI) CLARKE.
RUTH RETIRED FROM GRIMES AEROSPACE AFTER 41 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AND WAS ALSO A LONG-TIME FAITHFUL MEMBER OF THE FIRST CHURCH OF GOD IN COLUMBUS, OHIO.
SHE ALSO HAD A PASSION FOR THE GAME OF BRIDGE TO WHICH SHE WON MANY TROPHIES, PRIZES AND RECOGNITION IN THE BRIDGE WORLD OVER THE MANY YEARS OF TRAVELING TO A VARIETY OF NATIONAL BRIDGE TOURNAMENTS
SHE LEAVES TO REVERE HER MEMORIES HER ONLY DAUGHTER SHEILA LOCKRIDGE HOUPE; CHERISHED GRANDCHILDREN, BRANNDON HOUPE (BRITTISH), BRIANNA CREAMER, RODERICK HOUPE II (RASHAWN): GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, TESS CREAMER, XAVIER HOUPE & CHRISTIAN HOUPE: AS WELL AS HER LOVING SISTER SHIRLEY SCOTT (CA), AND A HOST OF NIECES, NEPHEWS AND FRIENDS.
THE FAMILY EXTENDS GRATITUDE TO THE SUPORTIVE STAFF AT OAKLEAF VILLAGE, 5500 KARL ROAD COLUMBUS, OHIO AND THE COMPASSIONATE AND CARING STAFF OF CAPITAL CITY HOSPICE.
PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICES WILL BE HELD. DUE TO COVID THE FAMILY REQUESTS NO VISITATION AT THIS TIME.
