Ruth Rogers Nelson, 90 of Columbus, passed away on August 8, 2015 at her residence. Born on November 17, 1924 to the late William and Fannie (DeVault) Wheat in Mt. Vernon, KY. Survived by son Ron (Vicky) Rogers, daughter Reda (Lloyd) Nelson, step-sons Lowell (Alice) Nelson, Doyle (Marilyn) Nelson, step-daughter Eileen (Mike) Drake, grandsons Scott (Iris) Rogers and Todd (Ann) Rogers, 9 great grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by first husband Jennings H. Rogers, second husband William A. Nelson, step-son David Nelson and 7 siblings. Special thanks to Leona, Polly, MaryKay, Courtney, Gifty and Catherine for all their loving care.
Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 2pm until time of service at 4pm with Tom Barnhardt officiating.
Private service will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park, Mansfield, OH.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Ohio Health Hospice, 800 McConnell Dr., Columbus, Ohio 43214.
