Ruth I. Swift, 66, of Columbus, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2008, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born to John T. and Irene R. (Voelker) Watters in Carmichaels, PA. on July 30, 1942, Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tina Rene Swift and brother, Raymond Watters. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Leonard W. Swift; daughters, Lisa and Laura Swift; brothers, Thomas (Martha Ann), David, Charles (Helen), Frank (Phyllis) and William (Emma) Watters; grandson, William Brandon Moore; special friend, Connie Dawley; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many friends. Ruth's family would like to thank the staff at Grant Medical Center for their excellent care and support. and HomeReach Hospice for their caring and compassion. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mifflin Twp Cemetery, Gahanna, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 870 Michigan Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215.
