Ruthie "Big MaMa" M. Billups, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2007. Born to the late Johnnie Lewis and Willie Mae (Brown) Ford in TN, Ruthie is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Jerry Billups; sister, Lula Bell Horton; brother, Cinco Forte. Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy L. Vance and Jeri Venable; granddaughter, Venus Akers-Foxx; great-grandchildren, Quana and Adam Foxx; many nieces, nephews and special friend, Minnie Fields. Ruthie retired from Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN and was a charter member of Ravenbrook Widow Missionary Baptist Church prior to moving to Columbus where she became a member of Calvary Tremont Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2007, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at the Calvary Tremont Missionary Baptist Church, 1255 Leonard Avenue, Columbus, OH with the service to follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH. Messages of condolence may be left at www.NewcomerFamily.com
