S. Roger Ward, age 86, of Baltimore, OH, left his beloved home and entered into the presence of the Lord, August 15, 2022. He was born in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late John V. Ward and Hazel VanHoose Borders.
He is preceded in death by his, brother, James V. Ward. Roger married the love of his life, Dee in 1956 and now joins her in Heaven.
They leave behind two daughters, Roger's "babies," Sherry (Billy) McCutcheon and Tammy (Bill) Weese; Grandchildren Joshua (Wendy) Weese, Heather (Chad) Haschel, Jeramy (Lindsay) Weese, Rachael (Cory) Shoup; Great-grandchildren: Isabella, Gavyn, Jentzen, Autumn, Harper, Ryder, Airalynn, Bella, Beckham, Zayd, Remington, Eibhlin, and Ceili (12/22); Precious sisters-in-law, Joanne Karl and Sue (Jerry) Dauer, brother-in-law, Gene Cochran; many cherished nieces and nephews; Best friend, like a brother, Joe Prince; Many, many friends.
Roger retired from Consolidated Freightways warehouse in shipping and receiving. He had a passion for martial arts that began in 1961, studying under karate master, Gary Tiktin, and attaining the highest level in Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Matsubayashi - 10th degree black belt. He built a dojo in his basement and trained many students in this unique style of karate. Roger was a man of integrity, honesty and wisdom. He loved his family. He loved his life. He always said, "I'm the richest man on earth."
Services will be Monday, August 22 at Charisma Life, 161 N. Hamilton Rd., Visitation 11:30 until the time of service at 1pm. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
