Samuel (Sami) L Spiezio, 64, of Columbus, Ohio passed away in his home surrounded by his family on September 21, 2022.
He was born in Lima, Ohio April 8, 1958 to the late Louis Spiezio and Sandra (Hance) Spiezio.
He is preceded in death by his mother Sandra (Hance) Spiezio, father Louis Spiezio, Grandparents Richard Hance and Lela Irene Hance, and Samuel Joseph Spiezio and Violet (Oliphant) Spiezio.
Surviving family including loving wife of 22 years Amy (Williams) Spiezio, daughter Nina Marie Spiezio, son Dominic Joseph Spiezio, and son Alexander Ray Williams;
Granddaughter Addison Elizabeth Spiezio, sister Vikki Woyan (Russell), nephew Edward Adams (Brenda Berry), niece ReNee Maynard (Gene "Chip" ). Great nephews Alex Berry, Gene (Tre') Maynard; great nieces Savanna and Lily Maynard, and Caitlin and Cecilia Berry.
Sami devoted his life to serving others. He was an award- winning merchant services trailblazer helping businesses grow and succeed over his accomplished 30 year professional career. His life passion came from being the founder of both, the American Kayaking Association, and the Ohio River Rat Society. Through his love of kayaking, Sami changed the lives of thousands of people by introducing them to 'his' sport. Whether it was a one- on- one training session or serving the community at a large event, Sami's dedication to teaching kayak safety was his driving force. Much like his beloved rivers, the ripples of his life will continue to flow and positively affect humanity as the people he touched carry his memory down the river of life.
Memorial Service will be held September 30, 2022 from 5-9 at Raccoon Creek Outfitters. 74815 US 50 Albany, Ohio 45710.
