Sarah Petrie Moseley, age 63 of Dublin, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware on July 21, 1958, to Marilyn and Robert Petrie. Sarah lived all over the country during her childhood, making stops in Delaware, New York, Saint Thomas V.I., California, and Arizona.
Sarah attended Arizona State University, where she majored in Broadcast Journalism. She met her future husband Tony at her first post-graduate job at Pepsi Frito-Lay. Sarah and Tony met on their very first day, where they progressed from co-workers to lifelong partners. They were married in Scottsdale, Arizona, while careers led them to Portland, OR and Richland, WA. They finally settled in Dublin, OH, where they have spent the past 30 years, raising three sons and plenty of pets along the journey.
Sarah was frequently active in the church, where she led many Bible studies, women's retreats, and children's ministry activities. Sarah's career included time on both television and radio, where she hosted her own shows, and interviewed guests as varied as Michael Reagan and The Veggie Tales. As Sarah focused on raising three young sons, she moved into a career focused on fundraising for Christian schools and charities. Sarah's biggest joy in the world was serving the Lord and she leaves behind a long list of individuals who gave their lives to Christ as a direct result of Sarah's passion.
Sarah was a devoted mother and poured her heart and energy into the lives of her children and assorted grand dogs. She was a converted fan of Ohio State and is surely yelling "O-H" at some Michigan fan in heaven. She felt at peace near the ocean and made annual vacations with her family to Hilton Head Island, SC, where she loved to read, watch the sunset, and spend countless hours at the beach.
She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2014 and was fearless in her fight with the disease. Sarah was active in the Central Ohio Alzheimer's Association and continued to use her broadcast and speech writing skills to raise awareness for the disease. In 2016, she delivered the opening speech at the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's and also appeared on local news stations to share her journey with Alzheimer's. Even in death she continues to fight with her wish to donate her body to scientific research at The Ohio State University to one day find a cure.
Sarah is survived by her husband Tony; sons Adam, Nate, and Peter (Sammi); parents Marilyn and Julian; brother Dan and sister-in-law Sandra; niece Sarah and nephew Danny; sister Caroline; and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert.
A celebration of Sarah's life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Meadow Park Church of God in Columbus, Ohio. Family will greet friends from 10-11am, with the service immediately to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a generous donation to the Central Ohio Alzheimer's Association in her memory at http://act.alz.org/goto/SarahsTeam
