Saundra "Susie" Lynn (Crum) Marcum, age 60 of Orient, Ohio, peacefully entered the kingdom of God in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family on February 15, 2022. Susie was born March 8, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Charles and Opal Crum.
Susie graduated from South High School and Paul Hayes Career Center in 1979.
Susie, a woman of faith, met her best friend and soulmate, Charles "Charlie" Marcum in 1978. He stole her heart while playing in the band at Woodrow First Christian Baptist Church. Charlie and Susie would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on March 8th. Together, they raised three daughters, Christy, Carly and Sheena. Their children blessed them with 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Susie loved her family unconditionally.
Susie loved traveling, cruising and listening to Charlie play the guitar. Some of her best memories were made at the Greenbrier River cabins, working in her garden, and cooking and canning in "Mimi's Kitchen". Susie also enjoyed spending weekends at the lake with family. However, nothing brought her more joy than when her grandbabies filled their house with laughter and love.
Susie is preceded in death by her parents, Brother Danny Crum, Son-in-Law Shawn Heaney, Mother-in-Law Stella Marcum and Sister-in-Law Tootsie McKnight.
Susie is survived by her husband, Charlie, daughter's Christy Heaney, Carly (Scott) Kochensparger, and Sheena (Nicholas) Toups. Grandchildren Cody (Amanda) VanDine, Andrea (Matthew) Heaney, Journey and Cruz Kochensparger, Charleigh, Eliza and Jacob Toups and great-grandson Damian VanDine. Sisters Gail (Steve) Fannin, Eva (Ken) Matzick and Sister-in-Law Marilyn Crum. Brother-in-Law Lacy (Christine) Marcum, Sister-in-Law Carolyn (Ronald) Trout, and several nieces and nephews.
Susie had a smile that could light up any room and her laugh was infectious. She leaves a legacy of family and faith. Susie will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A private funeral will be held February 22, 2022 and a Celebration of Life will be hosted by her family at a later date, to honor Susie's legacy.
