Scarlett Grace Rose Stoddard, 2 1/2 years old, passed away on September 29, 2011 into the arms of the angels, after a 2 year battle with cancer. She was an angel that inspired us with her sweetness, strength, humor and serenity. Though her struggle is over, her spirit lives on in all of us. Scarlett is survived by her mother, Sara Hinckley; father, Robert Stoddard; brothers, Gaige and Aiden Stoddard; grandparents, Scott and Judy Stoddard, Jeff and Theresa Hinckley; aunt, Emma Hinckley; uncle, Brad Thompson; great grandparents Gene and Doris Hinckley, Orpha Hyde, great uncles and aunts, David and Chris Bohn ,Steve and Dorothy Hinckley, Kurt and Theresa Hinckley, Karen and Jeff Jefferson, Jody and Steve Cameron, Kim and Keith Phillips, James Kern and Clayton Kern, numerous cousins and many friends including Chris and Alex Mramor, Justin Pearson, Erin Rasmussen, Brandon Horvath, Kate Elder, the Sanderson family, Cassy Taylor, Beth Van Atta, and last, but not least, her best friends Mr. Ribbits and Lambie. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Judith and William Kern. The family would like to thank her nurses, especially Bessie, Penny, and Megan for their loving care and also all the staff at Children's Hospital and Hospice for their support. Visitation will be Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 11:00-1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the memorial service beginning at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made, in Scarlett's name, to Nationwide Children's Hospital, Division of Hematology and Oncology (for brain tumor research), 700 Children's Drive, Columbus, Oh 43205.
