Scott Arlen Ries

Scott Arlen Ries, 63, passed away Oct. 8, 2021.

He was preceded in death by father, Robert "Bob" Ries; mother, Arline J. Ries; and brother, Steve Ries.

Scott is survived by wife of 34 years, Rhonda; daughter, Jessica (Jim) Burke; son, Joshua Ries; grandchildren, Brody, Jasper, Caden, and Hayley; sisters, Karen (John) Botti, Kathy (Alan) Chapman; sister-in-law, Kristin Ries; brother, Gary (Marilyn) Ries; many nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends, including the Silverbacks.

Scott's passion in life was his family. He was madly in love with his wife Rhonda. Every day of their marriage was special and he always made sure that she knew just how in love with her he was. They were inseparable and had the kind of love everyone should strive for.

He was the best father and did everything with his daughter Jessica. They were two of a kind and enjoyed working through everything together. Not only was Scott her father, but he was her primary educator, advisor, sounding board and poultry pen building best friend.

Scott's grandkids were his pride and joy, and he could never spend enough time with them. They spent their time together fishing, camping, and attending cub scouts together. Scott even helped to homeschool them, and took them to every sport and activity he was able to.

Brody, Jasper, and Caden were his 3 little buddies and he loved them more than words could express.

Scott spent his entire working lifetime in the Industrial Diamond Industry during an exciting phase of growth. He began his career in synthetic diamond production with General Electric, held many technical roles, emerging to become a senior manager in charge of a large production staff. He left in 2009 to join Vollmer on the machine tool side of the industry serving many of those same customers, and he spent the final 5 years of his career back to diamond materials, representing Servsix with Element six products. Scott had very deep technical knowledge and he was a valued and trusted partner for many people and companies in the industry many of whom he became close personal friends with. He had a deep passion for the industry and the people, and he made a very significant contribution to the success of the people and companies through his involvement with them directly and through the many industry associations and trade groups he worked with. He will be missed greatly within the industry.

Scott served our nation in the US Air Force.

Memorial Gathering Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021 from 11:30am until the time of Memorial Service at 1:30pm at Highland Baptist Church, 3460 Hoover Rd., Grove City, OH.
