Shedrich Henry Warr was born to Shedrich and Allena Warr on October 14, 1940, in Hamilton,
Ohio. Shedrich graduated from Grove City High School in 1959. He served in the United States
Army from November 30, 1959, until November 23, 1962.
Shedrich, known as Henry, was initially assigned to basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and
subsequently, to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where his brother, Rufus,
was serving. Henry was transferred overseas and was assigned to the 73rd Airborne Brigade in or
near South Vietnam. After returning to the United States Henry served as Chaplain of the
82nd Airborne Division Association of Central Ohio for approximately 22 years.
Henry was employed by the Columbus, Ohio School System as a Maintenance Supervisor and
served in that position for many years.
Henry was a Deacon at Union Baptist Church. He served in Men on a Mission and was a choir
member. Henry also served as a Council member for the Village of Urbancrest for many years and
received an award in February 2020, for the longest service as a Council Member.
Henry passed from this life to eternal life with God on August 18, 2023. Henry leaves to mourn his
passing, his brother, Rufus L. Warr, sister-in-law Mary R. Warr of Cleveland, a nephew, Marcus
Charles Warr, (Alicia) and their children, Marcus Allwin and Allena of Fort Worth, Texas.
