Shelbie Jean Bigelow, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2009. She was born on January 26, 1939 in Clarksburg, Ohio to the late William Elzie and Mae Rowland. For many years Shelbie served the Lord through ministry alongside her husband Gerald, she was a deaconess and pianist for the Leroy Jenkins Crusades, and she was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Gerald D. Smith, Sr.; and daughter, Jean Ann Eden. Survivors include her daughters, LaVonne (Eric) Bardell, Diana Kaderly, and Jerrilynn (John K.) Lewis; son, Gerald D. (Connie) Smith, Jr.; grandchildren, Bonnie Jo Hemmond, Arthur Dominguez, Felicia Vazquez, Jason Dominguez, Justin Dominguez, Shannon Kustra, Daniel Smith, Benjamin Kaderly, and Isabella Kaderly; great grandchildren, Sophia Young, Vera Young, and Jolene Kustra; sister, Sarah Kleindienst; and brothers, Carl Rowland, Harold "Paris" Rowland, and William "Billy" Rowland. Visitation will be held Monday, August 24, 2009 from 4:00PM-6:00PM and 7:00PM-9:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Pastor Eric Bardell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio.
