Shirlene Richesson, 83, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born August 21, 1927, in Columbus, daughter of the late Denver Shepherd and Ellen Taynor McDonald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Hustead; brothers, Ellisworth and Denver Shepherd; sisters, Rose Marie Murphy and Barbara Shepherd. Shirlene is survived by her daughters, Ellen (Daniel) Kunz, Susan O'Neil and Linda (Patrick) Milligan; sons, William (Cindy) and Wayne (Debbie) Richesson; sisters, Millie (Roy) Kanode and Sharon Payne; brothers, Ronald (Carol), Eldon (Lorraine) Shepherd and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. To leave a special message for the family visit www.NewcomerColumbus.com
Shirlene was a strong, focused grandmother that loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her dog Daisy Duke dearly. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
