Shirley Beatrice Bailey

Shirley Beatrice Bailey (Facemire), 77, passed away April 3, 2024 in Canal Winchester, Ohio.

Shirley was born with a strong will for life, weighing only two pounds. Her first few months included sleeping in a shoe box. She was the youngest of six Facemire children and she quickly learned to jockey for position with her siblings. Throughout her life, Shirley faced her fair share of challenges and uncertainty, but these experiences formed, a hardworking, resourceful woman who was always on the go (and ALWAYS had an eye out for a good used car).

Shirley was a complicated character, but she was especially inquisitive and generous, with a wonderful sense of humor. She made fast friends with countless people she met on her life journey, and she was known for showing up for people in need. She had a way to put other's minds at ease and help them through their troubles.

She was a follower of Christ and loved attending Faith Assembly of God Church under the leadership of Pastor Ray Richards.

Above all else, Shirley took pride in being a grandmother. Her grandkids and great-grandkids always came first. She took joy in being their favorite partner-in-crime. Josh and Chase will tell you she made the best cheeseburgers, and their memories with her are countless.

Shirley was preceded in death by parents, Mettie Facemire (Raines) and Fred Facemire; siblings, Fred Facemire Jr., Judy Reynolds, and Paul Facemire. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Charles Bailey; siblings, Shelby Sanders and Gene Facemire; son, Mitch Bailey; grandsons, Joshua and Chase Bailey; great-grandsons, Jonathan and Zachary Bailey; nineteen nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers or sympathy cards, Shirley would rather you make an effort to share a moment of generosity with a relative, friend, neighbor, or stranger you cross paths with.

Per Shirley's wishes, there will be no public services.
