Silas Sebazungu was born in Sake in Republic of Rwanda on September 3, 1972 of Francois Sebazungu and Francoise Mukarutabana. Silas was the youngest of the family of six. He started and completed his Primary School in Sake and moved to High School in Junior Seminary of Zaza. Two months before his graduation from High School, the country was engulfed in one of the worst genocide of the 20th century. Silas survived the slaughter, completed his studies at Junior Seminary of Ndera, and, a few years later, managed to join his surviving sisters in North America.
Thanks to his hard work, his social and friendly attitude, Silas integration into the American society was quite smooth. Despite these successes, Silas did not forget what he experienced in his homeland. Indeed, the scars of the genocide, as well as the loss of his loved ones have been always a daily burden almost impossible to run from.
Silas was a very hard working man: He attended Franklin University/ Networking Technology and always dreamed big. Indeed, one of his dreams was to be self employed. Eventually, a few years later, Silas decided to be a businessman in the field of transportation/trucking industry.
Whether in his bright times or in time of difficulties, Silas's family was his priority and his only treasure. Silas was a very loving and jovial person. He loved children and enjoyed them at all times and was very patient with them. In addition, he was very generous with everyone he came in contact with. Eventually, the general trend became, whenever one would experience some difficulties we would all say: "Please go and see Silas". In fact, the word "No" was not part of his vocabulary. Very caring and protective, his favorite sentence was "Are you Ok?", especially talking to his sisters that he loved very dearly and very deeply!
Silas will be remembered for his ever smiling face and his endless jokes and stories. If you were sitting with Silas, you'd better be ready to laugh!! Silas will be terribly missed by his wife, his son, his nieces and nephews, his sisters and their families, his cousins and all his friends.
May All Mighty God welcome Silas in his Kingdom.
