Skyler Austin Tharp, 28, passed away on November 5, 2023.
He was born on June 22, 1995 in Glendale, CA.
Surviving family includes mother, Mindy (Jim Ray) Arellano, father, Manny Castro, father raised, Curtis Tharp, brothers, Zack Tharp, Jayden Tharp, children, Xavier & Raelyn (Paris Tolbert), Ezra (Tarynn Thomas), step-sisters, Vienna Ray, Josephine Ray, cousins, Eddie Arellano, Cody Arellano and many friends and family.
Skyler was a loving son, brother, and father. Talking at six months and walking by eight months he was a very impressive and smart child. He was baptized in the catholic church at age 1. Skyler's God mom, Momma Kelly, played a big role in his life and took him to Disney all the time in addition to a lot more.
As a baby, he was really into his father, Manny's big red truck which developed his passion for cars and other motorized vehicles that followed him through life. Along with cars, Skyler and his dad, Curt loved to get out and ride dirt bikes which got him started on his adrenaline rush for speed. He could often be found in his spare time working on his own, his brothers or his friend's cars. He loved driving fast which meant anything over 100MPH to clear his mind and feel free. Most importantly, he enjoyed going to car meets and drag races with his brother Zack and friends. Being the oldest of three, he was determined to teach his brothers the ropes of life. He enjoyed every moment that he was able to spend with his brothers-from pushing each other's buttons to joking, playing video games together and laughing for hours. He did love his soccer and lacrosse back in the day where his brother's followed his footsteps down the same sport path.
When it came time to relax, you could always find him having fun, joking around, and enjoying some adult beverages with his family, friends and co-workers. Whether it was on a loudspeaker, in his car, or in his own headphones there wasn't a time where he didn't have music on. He also loved relaxing and watching movies or YouTube videos. Before he became a certified mechanic, he learned to teach himself very well by using the internet as a second hand. This allowed him to progress very quickly when becoming a mechanic for work. It shocked a lot of people when they saw how much he knew how to do.
Skyler cared a lot about his family and made sure everyone was always taken care of. He also made sure he never missed a holiday. His favorite was 4th of July as he would always surprise everyone with loads of fireworks to put on his own show in the backyard. His heart has always been strong for all his children. His children kept him driven to constantly do better. He loved buying his kids anything that had to do with cars, and it began to be something they all could share together. He enjoyed taking his kids to different zoos and aquariums which always brought a smile to his face. You could always catch Sky in matching outfits with his kids especially in the winter when they all would wear beanies together. Even with his kids still being young, Skyler never skipped a beat when it came to being a proud Dad.
Skyler will forever be in all our minds and hearts.
