Sofia Ann Balcerzak

Sofia Ann Balcerzak, better known as Frankie, age 16, wonderful daughter, kindhearted sibling, and selfless friend, unfortunately passed away suddenly in the early morning of Sunday, October 16th, 2022. Her passing was untimely and unexpected. Frankie saw the best in everyone. Some of the words that come to mind when describing Frankie are kind, selfless, understanding, and courageous.

Artistically talented, Frankie could turn any project into her own masterpiece, be it drawing, painting, or jewelry making, in addition to many other artistic outlets she pursued. It didn't matter who you were; Frankie was always finding the light in everyone she met. She was the kind of person that would stick by you if you were a friend, family member, or even a stranger. Even if the whole world was against you, Frankie would grab your hand and help you face anything as she stood by your side.

A student at Dublin Scioto High School and Tolles Career & Technical Center, Frankie was studying to be a nurse. She had a passion for caring for those who needed it the most. Starting back in middle school, she volunteered to help children with disabilities. Frankie loved learning about a variety of subjects, such as the solar system, mythology, insects, and sea creatures, among other subjects. She made a huge difference in the world and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Frankie is survived by her loving parents, Sheila and Jim; her three siblings, Atlas, Hannah, and Avery; as well as her paternal grandparents, Stanley and Mary Balcerzak; her uncles Paul Balcerzak (married to Tami), Bill Balcerzak (married to Grace), John Balcerzak, Tom Balcerzak (married to Alice), and Eric Balcerzak (married to Kara); her aunt Peggy Yerkes; and her cousins Alex Balcerzak, Allyson Balcerzak, Erin Balcerzak, Sydney Balcerzak, Joshua Balcerzak, Mary Fondriest (married to Joe), Abbie Balcerzak, Tonia Shunk (married to Justin), Emily Harden (married to Michael), Sarris Birch (married to Tyler), Ellie Onders (married to Zach), Olivia Balcerzak, Ethan Sall-Balcerzak, and Owen Sall-Balcerzak.

A gathering will be held this Saturday, October 22, 2022, between 1:00pm and 3:30pm with a memorial service starting at 3:30pm at Newcomer Northwest Columbus Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, Ohio 43065.
