Sokhom Im was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and family man. He was born in Battambang, Cambodia on January 1, 1967. He was the eldest of his family. As a victim of the Khmer Rouge, he sought refuge at a camp in Thailand. After moving to America, he settled in Columbus, Ohio after spending many years in the East Coast.
Sokhom was the life of the party and was always up for a good time. He was extremely positive and gave the good of every situation whenever he could. Stranger or not, his kind heart offered help to everyone within his reach. To provide for his family, he often worked 12 hour days casting concrete. In his free time he loved to go fishing and watch the Buckeyes play football. He had always had the urge to travel and show his family as many cities as he could.
Sokhom is survived by his wife Sokhounthea Long, three daughters Sothavy Long, Sotheavy Long, Conneata Im, his granddaughter Davi, mother-in-law Path Long; his sisters Phearun Uong, Pheara Nat, and brother Meng Im. Additionally, his relatives in France, Cambodia, and New England.
