Stanley L. "Spike" Richards, 90, Columbus, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011. Stanley was born in Wellston, OH on February 18, 1921, to Herschel L. and Mable R. (Hansgen) Richards and is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine "Jerry" (Simes) Richards; daughter, Christina Richards; sister, Evelyn. Survivors include his son, Gene "Big Daddy" (Joyce) Richards; grandchildren, Jonathan "J.J." (Melinda) Richards and Kevin (Trish) Richards; great-grandchildren, Selena, Alyssia, Caroline and Todd Michael Richards; aunt, Ruth Carter; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Stanley is a decorated WWII Veteran. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 5-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Thursday, March 3, 2011, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. The family would like to thank Manor at Whitehall for their kind and gentle care. Memorial contribution may be made in Stanley's name to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 404 South 3rd Street, Columbus, OH 43215.
