Stephen A. Sparks

September 3, 1952 - October 18, 2023

Stephen Alan Sparks, age 71, has gone into the Lord's loving arms for eternal care. Stephen was a thought-filled man always assessing his journey while being spiritually guided by the word of God. His love and devotion to his family was deep inside his heart, and there were always huge, strong hugs, especially for his loving wife of 41 years.

Stephen attended New Life Church in Gahanna. He grew up in Columbus and attended West High School. Stephen was earnest, sincere, and kept truth as a high standard. He would sit for hours doing research to find answers for every thought and situation that came to him. He had a keen mind for details.

Some of his favorite memories were running in the hills of Kentucky on summer vacations with his cousins. Stephen had a funny sense of humor and loved to laugh while making those around him laugh too. Stephen loved to sing and wanted everyone around him to sing as well.

Stephen is preceded in death by his father, Arthur J Sparks, and his mother, Marilyn Sparks, who died unexpectedly when he was 7 years old. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lynn Sparks; his sister, Patti (James) Allen of Texas; his sister, Jane Davison of California; and his nephew, Ryan Douglas Smith of Columbus.

We will forever love him and stand tall and strong knowing he is now with his beloved Savior. We thank the nurses and Hospice staff of the Wexner Heritage Village of Bexley for all their efforts to provide comfort for Stephen during his final days.

The family will hold a private graveside service. There will be a Memorial Service at New Life Church, 3690 N. Stygler Road, Gahanna, OH 43230 on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Stephen's memory to Zusman Community Hospice, 1151 College Ave, Columbus, OH 43209.
