Susan Marie Ferguson

Susan was born to Michael and Cheryl Ferguson on April 9,1975, in Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by her father, Michael, sister Christine Tolliver (Joshua and Elliot), brother Robert Ferguson, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and four children.

Susan’s life was sprinkled with miracles, starting at birth. She was born with significant birth defects and spent her first few months of life in an incubator. Against many odds, she grew into a vivacious child who lived life to the fullest, later studying Horticulture at Eastland Career Center, and then graduating from Gahanna Lincoln High School.

Susan deeply loved her friends and family, always wanting to help others in need. She was creative—dabbling in different expressions of art, and she took pride in her home. She was truly a unique person; her fiery spirit, sense of humor, and caring nature were apparent to all who knew her. 

Her life was not without hardships, and Susan battled with her struggles until the end. She gave birth to four children whom she loved wholeheartedly but was unable to care for in the way they most needed. The children were adopted into a loving family, but this loss became an immense wound that would never fully heal. She longed to live a healthier, happier life, but the obstacles she faced proved too severe to overcome. 

Susan will be greatly missed by her friends and family, but they take solace in knowing she is finally at peace and reunited with her mother.

Family and friends will celebrate her life with a Funeral Mass at St. Matthew the Apostle Church 795 Havens Corners Rd. Gahanna OH, 43230. Visitation will take place prior to Mass at Newcomer Funeral Home 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231
