Susan R. Gardner

Susan Ruth Miller Gardner, 60, died April 27 at Riverside Methodist Hospital following a brief illness, surrounded by family.

Born in Rocky Mount, Va., Susan was a longtime resident of the Northland area. She attended Northland High School, was a graduate of Westerville (South) High School and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Franklin University. She retired from Motorists Mutual Insurance in 2017 after 38 years of service.

Preceded in death by her husband, Michael Gardner, and her sister, Kathy Miller, Susan is survived by her parents, George and Pippin Miller of Columbus; children and grandchildren, Elizabeth (Todd), Michael and James Davidson of Marysville, Kim (Rich), Lily and Lucas Lynn and Kasce (Allison), Adalyn Gardner, all of Columbus; sisters, Nora Altice of Roanoke, Va., Carol (Mark) Bair of Columbus, Elaine (Charles) Scott of East Lansing, Mich.; and numerous other family members, friends and loved ones, all of whom enjoyed Susan's generous spirit and fierce devotion.

Arrangements were handled by Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231 where calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 2.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Buckeye Ranch or Columbus AIDS Task Force.
