Terri Lynn Massey

Terri Lynn Massey, 63, passed away on February 2, 2025.

Terri was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 7, 1961 to Melvin & Janice (Pye) Massey Sr.

Terri is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Melvin “Marty” Massy Jr., sister, Paula M. Massey, grandparents: Gerald & Katherine Morgan and Edwin & Ruby Massey, Aunts Millicent McCampbell, Lillian Mae Commodore, and Eugenia Massey.

Terri leaves to cherish her with fond memories, God daughter Latasha Draughon, nephew Tyreece Samuel Massey, great niece, Kennedy Sky Lee Massey, Aunts; Linda (Louis) Price of Indianapolis, IN., Betty Massey of Flint MI. , and Mary Masseyof Columbus, OH., Uncles; Ralph (Fonda) Morgan, James (Jackie) Massey, Eugene Massey, Robert (Ruby) Massey all of Columbus, OH and Glenn (Jackie) Morgan of Norcross, GA , Special cousin Tracey Brown and a host of family and friends.

Terri was known for her kind and giving spirit. She made it her personal mission to make everyone feel loved and valued. She had a spark in her that lit up every room that she entered and it radiated to all who were lucky enough to be around her. 

Terri’s jovial nature, which was evident by her Minion and Carebear collection, made her well suited for her previous role as a children’s Sunday school teacher. Her heart was so big that she was an honorary mother to many children over the years.

Terri took great pleasure in helping others and was a welcoming presence for the staff and patients at Primary One Health where she worked for more than 15 years.

Terri had a keen eye for a bargain so you’d often find her perusing a garage sale or channel surfing the home shopping networks. 

Terri also enjoyed road trips; especially trips to the beach. You’d often find her sitting for hours on the waterfront just watching the waves roll.

Terri loved God, her family, friends, and Luther Vandross; and not necessarily in that order. She had a zest for life and was a great friend to all. Terri will be missed.

Immediate Family will greet friends and family from 9am to 10am, service to follow at 10am on Saturday, March 1, 2025; all at Mt. Vernon Avenue AME Church, 1127 Mt. Vernon Ave, Columbus, OH 43203. Burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
