Terry Ellis Garner was born on October 25, 1940 and took his last earthly breath in his home early Thursday morning, April 7, 2022. Terry was the son of Martha (Lutz) Garner and Joseph Garner. And, he lived a lot of life between his first and last breaths.
He graduated from North High School, Columbus, OH in 1959. He worked for Fuller Brushes and joined The Marine Corp Reserves in 1963, serving in the Rifle Company. He also worked for REA Express Delivery and then co-owned and operated with his brothers Garner's Truck Service/Neal Ave - Big Pen 76 and Garner's Truck Service in Jeffersonville, Ohio.
Mr. Garner and his wife Marcy have been long standing members of Grove City Church of the Nazarene since 1965. Terry served as a Board member for 25 years, youth SS teacher and leader, Work and Witness trip participant, Greeter, Usher, and more.
Terry Garner was preceded in death by his Mom, Martha '99, and Dad, Joseph '89, his grandmother Lettie Lutz '70, and Aunt Rozella '08.
He is survived by his wife, Marcy (Hansgen) Garner, brothers Mike (Sandy) Garner and David Garner (Michael), Don and Olive Hansgen, children Ken (Teresa) Garner, Jeff (Beth) Garner, Amy Garner, grandchildren Justine (Dalton) Knight, Tanner Garner, Tate Garner, Mary (Brendon) Myers, Jordan (Makayla Burton) Lewis, Nate Zody, Lauren (Hunter Martin) Zody, great grandchildren Bentley Knight, Liam Knight, Jaxon Knight, Makenna Myers, Cooper Myers, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Terry grew up on East North Broadway right across the street from Marcy Hansgen. Once they found each other - there was an instant connection - that continued through all of these years. Their love for one another blossomed and grew into a family that still talks about how they love each other.

A visitation will be held at Grove City Church of the Nazarene from 10 am to 12 pm on Wednesday April 13, 2022, where services will begin at 12 pm with Reverend Jerry Lambert officiating.
