Thelma Perkins, 84, of Ellijay, GA, passed away Monday, August 3, 2009 at Gilmer Nursing Home, in Gilmer, GA. She was born August 5, 1924, in Cimarron, OK, daughter of the late Florence and Lona Wiley Crenshaw. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Denner; step son, David Perkins and six brothers and sisters. She was a member of Green Castle Bible Church, previous member of Westerville Bible, Calvary Bible and Morse Road Baptist Churches. She served in the Army during WWII. Thelma is survived by her husband, Norman Perkins; sons, Dennis (Brenda), Jeffrey and David (Laura) Denner; step daughter, Nancy (David) Kalb; step daughter-in-law Alicia Perkins; brothers, Harold (Bonnie) and Donald Crenshaw; sister, Shirley Logue; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. A special thank you to Linda Hott for caring for Thelma. Visitation will be Thursday, August 6, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Friday, August 7, 2009 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Reverends Donald Crenshaw and William Abernathy Sr. will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
