Theresa Jean Paxton, formerly Roberts, died April 30, 2022 in Grove City, Ohio, having suffered from dementia for several years. Born in Toledo on April 25, 1933 to Leo Roberts and his wife Gladys Page Roberts, Theresa had 4 full brothers and 4 full sisters, one of whom died in infancy, and a half brother and half sister, all of whom predeceased her. She attended Notre Dame Academy; after graduation she worked for Libby Owens Ford. Theresa married Grovia Ben Paxton in September 1958. They had three children, Susan Joyce Paxton and Grovia Ben Paxton II who are living, as well as a son, Jeffrey Edward Paxton, who died shortly after birth. Terri has many living nieces and nephews and cousins in Toledo, Chicago, and elsewhere. Starting as a part time cook, she rose to Food Services Director of the Anthony Wayne Local Schools, Whitehouse, Ohio. As a cook she was active in the union, becoming local president, and as food service director she participated in professional organizations. After retirement Terri and Ben lived for several years in St Petersburg, Florida, where they enjoyed travel and running a small antique business, and later moved to Grove City. Widowed in 2006, Terri spent her remaining years visiting and hosting relatives and friends, volunteering at her church, and enjoying the company of her beloved calico kitty Chloe. There will be a visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Grove City on Saturday, May 21 at 10:00 am, followed by mass at 11:00 am celebrated by Fr Joe Yokum. A luncheon will follow mass, also at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask people donate to their local St Vincent de Paul, Heartland Hospice, or the animal rescue of their choice.
