Thomas B. Wirthman, passed away peacefully on September, 10, 2013. Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Joellen and daughters, Tracy and Wendy Wirthman.
Tom is preceded in death by his beloved parents; Leo Sr. and Margaret (Blair)Wirthman and brothers, David, Richard and William. Survivors also include his brother Leo Jr; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Tom graduated from Bishop Hartley High School where his football and basketball skills took him to Marianapolis Prep School. He then attended St. Michael's College in Sante Fe, NM where he majored in English and received accolades for his gifts in writing.
He served in the US Army Reserves and returned to continue building the family business, Wirthman Bros. Auto Parts, where he was co-owner with his brothers. He proudly carried the family strong work ethic his father and Uncle George instilled years ago.
Tom was an avid sports fan, especially Notre Dame. He strongly supported the arts and both of his daughters endeavors.
Those who knew Tom loved his gentle spirit and awesome sense of humor. He will be deeply missed on earth yet heaven has a new angel.
Private family memorial and Catholic Mass is planned. Special Thanks to Angie, Dianne and the staff of Whetstone H.S.
