Thomas Gene Carey

Thomas Gene Carey, 73, of Westerville, OH, and formerly of Hilliard and Pataskala, OH, passed away on March 31, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on November 2, 1946 to the late Frank Edward and Ellen Louise Carey in Columbus, OH.

Tom is survived by his ever-loving, beautiful wife of 53 years, Diane Carey; children, Howard Carey, Tom (Denise) Carey, Richard (Amy) Carey, Christine (Doug) Reader, David (Amber) Carey, Deborah (Josh) Coey, and Kevin Carey; Grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Mankins, Andrea (Kyle) Morgan, Laura Carey, Brian Carey, Sam Reader, Jason Reader, Richie Carey, Nathan Reader, Thomas Carey, Lillie Carey, Matthew Reader, Emily Carey, Kameron Erskine, Preston Carey, Liberty Carey, Cole Carey, Ashley Carey, Isabella Carey, Julian Coey, DJ Carey; Great-Grandchildren (7); sister, Marlene (Jack) Chenoweth and brother, David Younkin, many cousins, nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Tom retired from Atlas Industrial Contractors in 2002. He battled Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for 23 years along with a horrible case of Pneumonia in 2015. He was a fighter and did not want to give up. Tom enjoyed "tinkering" in the garage and doing anything and everything for his grandkids.

A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Jersey Baptist Church.

The live service will be streamed on the Facebook. An invitation to a private group entitled Thomas G. Carey Memorial Service Group will be sent for viewing for those who cannot attend due to the Corona (COVID 19) pandemic.
