Thomas Lee Gasper, age 75, passed away on June 26, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 17, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to Sam and Dorothy (Lillicrap) Gasper, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Jodi, and their dogs Thor and Shyla of the home, two children from his first marriage to Linda Vanzant Gasper - John and Susan (Matthew Menke), and granddaughter Thea Menke. He is also survived by step-daughter Jennifer Edwards (Ray), and three grandchildren, Parker, Riley, and Barrett Edwards.
A pilot since age 17, and a country boy at heart, Tom's adventures took him far afield from his roots in Williamsburg, Missouri. He spent most of his professional life as a pilot, first as a commuter pilot based in Missouri, and then for DHL for many years in Brussels, Belgium and later in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Since returning to the US, he worked for Flight Safety International for the past 25 years teaching the next generation of pilots the finer points of hickory smoked bar-b-que.
