Thomas M. Burnett, 46, of Grove City, passed away unexpectedly at home Friday evening, September 25, 2015. A former Marine and Pickaway County Deputy Sheriff, Tom had been a long-haul truck driver for the past twenty years, most recently for Old Dominion Freight Line in Columbus.
He had lived out of state for several years and had only returned to the Central Ohio area two years ago. At that time he and his former wife, Jennifer Barrick, also of Grove City, were reunited and re-wed in May, 2014. Jennifer was the love of his life and neither had remarried in the interim.
Tom is survived by Jennifer; son, Trevor Barrick; mother, Mary (Edmister) Burnett, and was preceded in death by his father, George H. Burnett. Tom leaves behind two sisters, Nancy Burnett and Mary Phillips, wife of Greg Phillips, of Bristol, TN; one brother, Dr. Robert Burnett and his wife, Susan (Hume) Burnett of Gahanna.
Also surviving are his uncle, Paul Edmister and wife, Jane; nephews, Phillip Loel and Gregory Phillips; niece Emily Phillips,and many cousins and dear friends.
Calling hours will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH on Thursday, October 1, 2015, 5-8 PM with Funeral Services on Friday, October 2, 2015, 10:00 AM.
Interment will be held at 2:00 PM at Trenton Cemetery, Condit, OH.
