Thomas Boyd Marmon, 74, born June 24, 1948, died August 18, 2022. Retired E-6, Technical Sargeant, United State Air Force 1968-1988 in Aircraft Corrosion Control. Vietnam Veteran at Tan Son Nhut, November 1971 to November 1972. Served at Lackland AFB, Sheppard AFB, McConnell AFB, Tan Son Nhut, Vietnam, Fairchild AFB, Rickenbacker AFB (Lockbourne), Ramstein AFB, Beale AFB, Bitburg AFB, and Loring AFB. Tom's second career was as a long-haul truck driver for Zumstein and various other trucking companies. Member of DeMolay, West Gate Lodge #623 F&AM, 1961-1969. Third Degree Master Mason, West Gate Lodge #623 F&AM. Graduated from West High School, Columbus, OH, 1968. Preceded in Death by Father, Boyd Elliott Marmon (1924-2004), Mother, Ernestine Belle VanSickle Blake (1928-2022), and Stepmother, Janet Lavonda Futerer Marmon (1936-2012). Survived by Son, Thomas Boyd Marmon, II (Columbus), Daughters, Scharolette (Jim) Huston (Pickerington), and Marka Glenn (Brian Clark) (Columbus). Grandchildren, James Huston, Justin Huston (both of Columbus), Nicholas Marmon (Waverly, NY), and Amelia Roop (West Jefferson). Sister, Sandra J. Figueroa (Lauderhill, FL), half-Sisters, Julie and Jodie Marmon (Columbus) and Kimberly L. Weissman (Mt. Sterling). Also survived by many nieces and nephews and even great-nephews and Tom loved them all! Tom was a big man and would do anything for anyone. He helped Dad work on cars to keep all of us on the road, took his Mom and Step-Mom to hundreds of doctor appointments and helped Dad with yardwork. Tom was a life-long car enthusiast and avid player of the Ohio Lottery. Tom and various family and friends enjoyed hundreds of family card nights. Tom was a top-notch card player, including Euchre, Spades, Hearts, and 500 Rummy. Tom loved dogs and was a faithful dog-walker. He enjoyed the companionship of many fine furry friends, including Spike, Lady, Penny, Nugget, and Gabe.
Friends may call at the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 11:00am until time of funeral service at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery.
