Thomas G Stelzer, 92 passed away February 20, 2023 in Sunbury, OH.
He was born in Columbus, OH on Oct 10, 1930 to the late Claude and Aileen (Gilbert) Stelzer.
Tom graduated from Central High School in Columbus in 1948. He married his high school sweetheart Norma Jean Thomas Thanksgiving weekend 1950, the weekend of the famous OSU-MI "Snow Bowl".
Tom was a member of the Ohio National Guard from 1952-1955.
He worked in sales all of his career life, particularly for the Planters Peanuts Division of Standard Brands/Nabisco.
Tom was an accomplished amateur Magician and received many awards from the International Brotherhood of Magicians, was instrumental in organizing the annual MagiFest and was well respected by his peers. He was always up for entertaining at the grandkids birthday parties.
He was a longstanding member of Christ Presbyterian Church, always serving on committees and helping with church projects.
He loved golf, fishing, OSU and Columbus Blue Jackets, the Reds, as well as any team his grandchildren were on.
Tom was a loyal friend and family man. He was gentle and kind and did not know a stranger. He faced many adversities the last 10 years and always approached them with grace and a smile.
He is preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean, sisters Pauline, Dorothy, Kathryn and Marion and brothers Jack and Robert and beloved grandson Brett.
Survived by sons Gregory (Linda), Mark (Gloria), Rick (Rona) and daughter Lynne Roloson (Brian), 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11 from 10-12, with a service at 12 at Newcomer Northeast. Burial at Sunbury Memorial Garden following the service, Pastor Rocky Riddle presiding.
