Thomas L. Veigel, Esq. (1941-2021) of Pataskala, Ohio passed away on December 1, 2021. Tom was a 1959 graduate of Upper Arlington High School. He attended Ohio State University, where he was a member of Company A-1 of the National Society of Pershing Rifles, then earned his undergraduate degree from Milligan College in Tennessee. He earned his Juris Doctor from The Capital University School of Law in 1969 and later served as an Administrative Court Judge for the State Supreme Court of Ohio. Tom retired from Efficient Electric Corp. in 2006, where he was the Secretary/Treasurer of the corporation for more than 20 years.
Tom was a model railroad enthusiast with an intense interest in the Pennsylvania Railroad as it ran through central and eastern Ohio. He was an active member of the National Model Railroad Association's Mid Central Region and the Buckeye Division where he served in numerous elected and appointed positions. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Railroad Historical Society. Tom was an avid singer, having sung with the Singing Buckeyes Barbershop Chorus and the Southern Gateway Chorus, and in the barbershop quartet, 'Quite By Accident', of which he was a founding member. Additionally, Tom was a U.S. Civil War enthusiast who was active with the Civil War roundtable discussions and volunteered at the Sherman House in Lancaster. An active member of the Ohio X-Riders for many years, Tom also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and ventured out west several times, even completing a double coast-to-coast tour in the summer of 2011. He was proudly known among bikers as "Old Fart." Some of his other interests included flying small airplanes, cooking, wine, firearms, and his cats.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth, and brother, James. He is survived by his wife Karen of Pataskala; daughter, Ellie (Eric) Seligmann, and their two children, Hans and Heidi, of Aurora, CO; son Thomas W. (Angela) and their daughter, Piper, of Littleton, CO; stepdaughters Jennifer and Kelly Griffith of Reynoldsburg, OH, step-grandson Logan Trivette of Elizabethton, TN, and step-grandchildren, Maddox, Major and Macie, of Reynoldsburg, OH, along with many treasured friends.
Tom's cremated remains have been interred at South Lawn Cemetery in Coshocton, Ohio, alongside other members of the Veigel family.

A funeral service will be held at Newcomer Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road Columbus, Ohio 43231 on Saturday, March 12th at 2:00pm.
