Thomas "Tom" K. Williams Sr., 77, of Grove City, OH, passed away July 21, 2010 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital after a short bout with cancer. He was born Oct. 28, 1932, to the late Wilfred K. and Thelma U. Williams. Tom is survived by wife, Velma "Jean"; daughter, Lynn (Gary) Long; son, Tom (Cindy) Williams, both of Grove City; sister, Sarah (Jay) Watson; brothers, Glen (Connie) Williams and David (Diana) Williams; grandchildren, Gary (Toby) Long, Tanya Long (Scott), Tommy (Jodie) Williams, Jeff Williams, Krysta (Matt) Leonard; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Tyler, Gavin, Haleigh, Katelyn, Keelyn, Tommy, Mercedes, Joey and Gianna; step great-grandchildren, Gage, Garren and Griffin; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Tom served two years active duty in the US Army from 1952-1954, then six years in the Army Reserves. He worked for 45 years for Big Bear Stores Inc. as a produce merchandiser before retiring in 1993. Visitation Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Graveside Service Wednesday, July 28, 2010, promptly at 1 PM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH. Memorial donations in Tom's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
