Words from Dwight Maxwell, lifelong friend:

Thor was truly a remarkable and unforgettable person. His larger-than-life personality, infectious laughter, and ability to connect with everyone around him made him a friend to many. You could not miss him when he entered a room. He lived a big life impacting many. He could talk to anyone and often did. He could be bossy, loving, and encouraging all at the same time. He was a force of nature to everyone that knew him, and when you were close, you were family.

Thor loved to play and win at poker, was the king of the grill (he knew how to grill anything), listening and dancing to music, and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fanatic, always engaging with his passions and sharing them with others.

No one would argue that Thor did not hesitate to offer his opinions on any topic, including relationship advice, football, grilling, boxing, and was also a passionate storyteller. He was social, never turning down an opportunity to get together with friends and family. He had a profound impact on those around him, leaving behind memories of laughter and joy.

Above all Thor was a dedicated and deeply protective husband and father, always wanting the very best for his family. He was most proud of his children, reveling in their accomplishments in academics, sports, and the overall good people they grew up to be.

Thor was a loving and caring man with a heart of gold and an invincible spirit. While his presence will be greatly missed, the love and warmth he shared with others will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
