Tracy L. Molter

September 12, 1957 — February 18, 2021

Tracy Lee Molter, born to Frederick and Phyllis Molter in Columbus, OH, on September 12, 1957, left his beloved family and friends on February 18, 2021 as the result of COVID-19. He is preceded in death by his father and father and mother in law (Jack and Jo Clayton), and brother and sister in law (Jim Timson and Joni L Molter).

A 1975 graduate of Brookhaven High School, Tracy started his career as a firefighter soon after. As a firefighter and paramedic with Washington Township Fire Dept for 36 years, he taught CPR classes to students and adults throughout the Dublin community, retiring in 2019. Not only was he a brave public servant, but he also loved his time spent officiating basketball and baseball for the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA). He also volunteered at Dublin Jerome High School as an assistant baseball coach and a founding member of the "chain gang" during varsity football games. Tracy could be found bowling, a perfect game of 300 in 2012 or watching sports like OSU football or Major League Baseball. He was an excellent "handy man" and always ready to lend a helping hand. Tracy, a cancer survivor, was known as Papaw to his cherished family and grandchildren, and his amazing hugs, sense of humor, and smile that lit up any room will never be forgotten.

Tracy is survived by his mother Phyllis (Whited) Molter; his beloved wife of 42 years, LuAnn (Clayton) Molter; daughter, Alicia (John) Grossman, and sons, Andrew (Laura) and Austin (Estefanía) Molter; granddaughters Annabelle and Coralynn Molter, Josephine, Ellianna (Ellie Mae), and Maribeth Grossman, and grandson Leo Molter; brother Frederick W. Molter and sister Phyllis (Molter) Timson; and devoted extended family including brothers and sisters in law, cousins, nephews, and countless friends and colleagues.

Visitation will be at Newcomer-Northwest Columbus Chapel, Sunday March 7, 2021, 4-7pm. The funeral service will be held at Newcomer on Monday March 8, 2021, at 12pm. Internment to follow at Jerome Township Cemetery.
